Privacy
The short version: this is a plain website that sells books. It doesn’t track you, and it collects nothing unless you type it in and press send.
What this site collects on its own
Nothing. Every page here is a static file. There are no accounts, no logins, no shopping cart, and no database. The site sets no cookies of its own, runs no advertising, and does not build a profile of you.
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits in aggregate. Analytics cookies are switched off by default: nothing is stored on your device unless you agree to it, so visits are counted approximately rather than exactly. That trade is deliberate. Google’s own description of what it collects is in the Google privacy policy.
The typefaces are served from this site’s own server rather than from Google Fonts, so simply reading a page here sends no request to Google or anyone else.
What the web host records
Like every website, this one is served by a hosting company — SiteGround — whose servers keep standard access logs: the IP address of the request, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. These are ordinary server records, used to keep the site running and secure. Nobody here reads them to identify individual visitors.
Mailing list
There isn’t one on this site yet. When there is, this page will say exactly what happens to an address before the form appears anywhere.
If you write to Brian
There is no contact form on the site at the moment — the contact page gives you an email address instead, so your message goes straight to Brian with nothing in between. It is used to reply to you and nothing else, and it is never added to a mailing list.
When you click through to Amazon
The “Buy on Amazon” buttons are affiliate links. Clicking one takes you to Amazon, and if you buy something Amazon pays this imprint a small commission — at no extra cost to you. The disclaimer explains that in full.
What matters here is that once you are on Amazon, you are on Amazon. They set their own cookies and apply their own privacy policy, over which this site has no control and no visibility. This site never learns what you looked at or whether you bought anything — only an aggregate commission report with no customer details in it. Amazon’s terms are in their privacy notice.

Children
This site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights, and how to use them
Since almost nothing is collected, there is usually nothing to ask about. Where there is — an address on a mailing list, or a message you sent — you can ask what is held, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and it will be. Get in touch and say what you would like.
Changes
If this site starts doing something new with data, this page is updated before that happens rather than after.
