Brian J. Mueller is a poet, and the publisher behind Digital Alphabet Books — the imprint that has carried his work since 2002. His journey with poetry began between college lectures, and took flight through the rhythm of his favorite songs and the landscapes of his travels. His debut collection, Bull Head, gathered a decade of writing from 1991 to 2001. Eleven volumes have followed: among them four volumes of Brian's Poem of the Day, each a year of daily meditations drawn from five years of sharing a poem every morning; a book of morning haiku; and two anthologies from the men's writing retreat he has co-led for a decade.

He writes in the lineage of Charles Bukowski, with inspiration from Rumi, Mary Oliver, David Whyte and John O'Donohue. Drawing on many years of contemplative practice and on participation in councils and ritual events, his recent work turns toward midlife, descent, grief, and the daily work of coming home to ourselves.

Brian anchors his life in a daily writing practice and a commitment to uncovering deeper meaning and beauty in everyday experience. He finds renewal in honest storytelling, soulful reflection, and active leadership in Illuman, an organization supporting men on their spiritual journeys. He lives in Dayton, Ohio.
